Happy Mother's Day

I wore my mother's jacket this week.  It is a puffy black and white jacket that my mother wore for several years before she died. It has been ten years since she became an unlimited, spiritual being and joined the chorus of the ancestors which means her puffy black and white  jacket must be at least twelve years old.  I should not have been surprised when I found the tear but I was.

I'm not even sure how I happened.  My fingers felt something strange on the back of the arm and when I looked, I saw it, not a tiny tear that I could stitch up, but a whopping big tear that flapped open like a wound.

I took the jacket off and folded it up - knowing that I would no longer be able to wear it.
I had enjoyed wearing my mom's jacket, It kept me warm and cuddly.  I made me sad - to say goodbye to one more piece of her memory.  It was this poem that helped to put a smile back on my face.

Your Mother is always with you.
She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street.
She's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers
you pick and
perfume that she wore.
She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not
feeling well.
She's your breath in the air on a cold winters day.
She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the
colors of a rainbow.
She is Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every teardrop.
A mother shows every emotion......happiness,
sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness,
excitement, joy, sorrow... and all the while,
hoping and praying you will
only know the good feelings in life.
She's the place you came from, your first home,
and she's the map you follow with every step you take.
She's your first love; your first friend, even your first enemy but
nothing on earth can separate you.  Not time, not
space...not
even death!

Happy Mother's Day mom !
XOXOX

I looked for an image of my mom.  It wasn't on any of the hard drives I had downstairs. I'll check upstairs tomorrow - as soon as I find it I'll come back to this post and add it.
